We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Project Manager to join our Edmonton based buildings engineering. This role will leverage your extensive experience (minimum 15 years) to contribute to the growing electrical team in Edmonton. This opportunity will provide the chance to lead and shape the team. You will also lead projects across various sectors including residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, educational, government, healthcare and recreational facilities while also fostering client relationships.

You will have the opportunity to take part in our hybrid work model that includes flexible work hours, working from home and in our Edmonton AB office.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the growing electrical practice in Edmonton leveraging your experience to date and the expertise available in other locations across CIMA
  • Directly engage with clients to understand project needs and maintain strong business relationships
  • Participate in business development activities through the Alberta area
  • As the team grows contribute to the development of the electrical engineering groups technical expertise in order to meet our clients needs
  • Analyze and solve complex problems, identify appropriate work methods and guidelines and coordinate project completion
  • Assist in the supervision and management of the electrical engineering team members including engineers, technicians and support staff
  • Evaluate technical work, delegate responsibilities and provide instructions
  • Make recommendations regarding the selection of new employees in the recruitment process, training, performance evaluation and compensation management
  • Prepare and reply to proposals in collaboration with the team assigned to this task

Qualifications
  • Eligible for membership with APEGA
  • Over 15 years experience in electrical engineering in the buildings sector
  • Experience in managing teams of professional engineers is an asset
  • Knowledge and experience in the consulting engineering market and with clients in Edmonton and surrounding area
  • Demonstrate a commitment to client service that is second to none
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is required
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is an asset
  • Experience mentoring junior technical staff is an asset
