Job description
About the role

The Electrical Assembler is responsible for assembling, testing and troubleshooting electrical equipment. Their background in electrical / mechanical assembly greatly aids the team and ensures fast and efficient resolution to any issues that may arise.

The successful candidate must be available to work the following shifts : Monday to Friday 6 : 30am-3 : 00pm and 2 : 45pm-11 : 15pm.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble and / or modify electronic parts and equipment
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, specifications, work orders or reports
  • Ensure proper soldering and installation of electric wiring
  • Test and troubleshoot equipment, and correct any defects
  • Set up and operate hand and power tools
  • Keep track of material, tools and equipment, and inform supervisor of shortages
  • Properly and consistently document and follow established procedures
  • Wear proper PPE at all times (must have own helmet and steel toe boots)
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Electronic / Electrical Engineering Technologist, Electrical Engineer, or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical / mechanical assembly and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of safe work practices
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
Working Conditions
  • Hazards associated with working in a fabrication shop ( noise, machinery)
