Department: Clerk’s Department

Classification: Temporary/Contract (approximately 11 months)

Salary Range: $71,475.79 - $85,128.85

Hours of Work: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday

Starting Date: January 2026

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and implement all aspects of the municipal and school board election
  • Develop and maintain the master election project calendar and related documentation
  • Recommend strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure an effective and efficient election process
  • Ensure compliance with statutory deadlines and accessibility requirements
  • Liaise with provincial and municipal partners, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Recruit, train, and supervise temporary election staff; prepare training materials
  • Manage voters’ list revisions and updates
  • Prepare election materials for candidates and voters
  • Oversee procurement, inventory, and distribution of election supplies
  • Organize advance voting and election day operations
Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Public Administration or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of the Municipal Elections Act, Education Act, Municipal Act, and AODA
  • Experience in municipal government, preferably in elections
  • Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Class “G” Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle
  • Availability for evening and weekend work during peak election periods
Working Conditions
  • Usual public office conditions.
  • Works regular office hours and overtime as needed during peak election periods.

Satisfactory passing of a criminal record check and reference checks as well as proof of qualifications will be required of any successful candidate(s) for this position.
