Job summary

Asahi Kasei Battery Separator Canada Corporation (AKBSCA) is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join a new greenfield startup in Port Colborne, Ontario. The EHS Manager will provide strategic and hands-on leadership for all EHS programs, ensuring regulatory compliance and driving a proactive safety culture.

Reporting to the Sr. Environmental Health & Safety Director, you will build and sustain an effective EHS management system, lead audits and training, and partner with site

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years of Health, Safety and Environment experience in manufacturing.
• 3+ years of experience leading a team.
• Canadian CRSP or CRST certification is required.
• Experience with EHS Management Systems such as ISO 14001/45001 and Responsible Care is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead EHS programs to ensure regulatory and corporate compliance.
• Develop and implement EHS procedures and training.
• Monitor and report EHS performance and metrics.
• Lead incident investigations and verify corrective actions.
• Oversee safety for construction and contractors.
• Lead hazard analyses and pre-startup safety reviews.
• Manage annual EHS budgets.
• Participate in EHS audits and continuous improvement.
