Purpose of Role:

The EHS Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining programs and policies that provide safe & sustainable working conditions in compliance with EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) legislation and internal Weir standards. Supporting and coordinating all EHS/SHE related activities within region and supporting wider Divisional & Group initiatives on our journey towards Zero Harm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to and execute the deployment of Weir Group EHS/SHE Strategy across the North America region of the ESCO Division, ensuring active participation by all Senior Leaders and stakeholders. Lead, coach, partner with, and provide direction to ESCO managers, employees and SHE resources throughout North America on EHS/SHE strategy and performance goals.
  • Lead and embed a multi-strand strategic culture change, Zero Harm Behavior Framework with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization (executive to shop floor)
  • Actively interpret EHS/SHE trend analysis and statistics providing insights to leaders and develop alternate solutions to improve SHE performance. Prepare regional monthly reports outlining SHE performance, trends and corrective action
  • Plan and direct site self-assessments and recommended actions for the correction of hazardous situations. Provide guidance toward the development of the EHS/SHE resources and skills necessary to achieve our continuous performance improvement.
  • Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.
  • Progressive experience in EHS/SHE in an operations or manufacturing environment
  • Experience working in a technical and or/industrial industry
  • Demonstrated ability to share and engage others in vision of the business
  • Experience working with all levels within an organization providing support and representing leadership.
  • Experience or knowledge of ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 9001:2015 is an asset
