Job summary

MDA Space is seeking an EGSE and Test Engineer at our Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue office to join a multi-disciplinary team testing satellite electronic units and developing test equipment.

You will design, support and document electrical test equipment, collaborate across engineering, manufacturing and procurement, and may require evening/weekend support during commissioning. A minimum of 2 years in electrical engineering with hands-on PCB design is expected.

Qualifications

• SC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience.
• Hands-on experience in electronic design.
• Skills in printed circuit board (PCB) design.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a collaborative team, strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Interest for laboratory work.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams for the development test equipment used for testing satellite electronic units.
• Support testing of satellite electronic units.
• Be part of an engineering team specializing in test equipment, otherwise called electrical ground support equipment (EGSE).
• Design and support manufacturing of electrical test equipment and cable harnesses.
• Produce design documentation such as electrical diagrams, assembly drawings, bill of materials, etc.
• Assist engineering in analyses and writing of test procedures.
• Support procurement, manufacturing and validation of test equipment.
• Possibility of evening and weekend support during equipment commissioning period or when equipment problems occur in production

Role

We are seeking a motivated and talented EGSE and Test Engineer at our Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue office. The candidate will participate in the development of test equipment and support testing of satellite electronic units.

Tasks

Experience And Skills Required

• Sc or equivalent in Electrical Engineering;
• Minimum 2 years of experience.
• Hands-on experience in electronic design;
• Skills in printed circuit board (PCB) design;
• Ability to work autonomously and in a collaborative team, strong teamwork and interpersonal skills;
• Interest for laboratory work.

Assets

• Diptrace or equivalent PCB cad tool.
• Knowledge of stepper motors and drives
• Knowledge of Python or VBA.
• Knowledge of microcomputers (Raspberry Pi / Arduino)
• Knowledge of PSoC programming
• Microsoft office suite and Visio.
• Bilingual (French / English)

Comments/Special Considerations

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
