Job summary

Grande Prairie Public School Division invites applications for a Speech Educational Assistant at multiple schools for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time temporary role (32.5 hours per week) supports students under the supervision of a certified teacher.

The successful candidate will assist with communication and learning supports, mobility, and personal care tasks as required, bringing experience with children and any NVCI training. Police checks are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Educational Assistant Diploma with CPR/First Aid preferred
• post-secondary training such as the Speech Language Pathologist Assistant Program
• some experience working with children in an organized setting preferred
• preference will be given to those with NVCI training
• experience working with students who exhibit challenging behaviors is an asset
• ability and willingness to perform required physical tasks, as well as assist with personal care
