Job summary

UGDSB is seeking an Educational Assistant for a temporary full-time appointment at Arthur Public School. The position is 1.0 FTE (32.5 hours/week) with an hourly wage range of $30.92 to $36.74, plus vacation pay as per ESA. Start date as soon as possible; end date anticipated December 18, 2026.

The 10-month posting runs September to June. Preference given to ESSP Bargaining Unit employees; external applicants considered per Collective Agreement articles.

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant Diploma or related study with relevant experience.
• Post-secondary degree in a related field.
• Valid Behaviour Management Systems certification.
• Experience working with students with special needs is preferred.
• Able to perform essential physical duties (lifting/positioning).
• Access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Support students with diverse needs including behaviour, safety, medical and physical needs.
• Duties may include lifting, toileting, positioning and transferring children and equipment.
• Work with students individually or in groups.
• Collaborate with classroom teacher, parents and administration.
• Other duties as assigned.
