A leading educational institution in Ottawa is seeking a part-time Educational Assistant to support students with exceptional needs. This role involves working closely with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities, as well as modifying programs to meet individual learning requirements. The candidate should have a community college diploma and relevant experience with school-aged special needs children. Competitive hourly wage offered.

$29.54 to $36.70 per hour
Under the direction of the Principal the Educational Assistant is an integral member of the school team and is responsible for the provision of support to students with exceptional needs within the school. The position involves dealing with confidential information and requires ongoing flexibility and variability. Responsibilities are varied in collaboration with teaching and other professional staff and include:
The successful candidate will possess a community college diploma in Developmental Services Worker Child and Youth Care / Worker or equivalent and a minimum of 1-2 years of related experience with school aged special needs children. Equivalent programs must be assessed by People Culture and Leadership staff. Valid First Aid certification / CPR Level C is required. The successful candidate will have also completed Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention TCI and / or Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) training.
