Job summary

Holy Family Catholic Regional Division in Grimshaw, Alberta is seeking a Probationary, full-time Educational Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year, starting as soon as possible and ending June 29, 2027, with the possibility of extension.

The Educational Assistant will support teachers and work with students individually or in groups, including English Language Learners, to promote learning, wellbeing, and confidentiality in a respectful, safe classroom.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Diploma.

Holy Family School, located in Grimshaw, Alberta requires a Probationary, Full-time Educational Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year starting as soon as possible, up to and including June 29, 2027, with the possibility of extension.

Job Description

Education Assistants are employed by the Division to support teachers in meeting the needs of students in their classrooms. An Education Assistant may be assigned to work with individual students or groups of students under the direct supervision of a teacher.

The ideal candidate will also have a good working knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture, to help promote cultural awareness and appreciation within the school. The role also focuses on building positive relationships with Indigenous students to support their academic, social, and emotional wellbeing.

Duties Will Include

• Work with students with learning, physical, and/or behavioral challenges, one-to-one, small group, and classroom duties.
• Duties may include working with students who require attending to health needs and personal care.
• The assignment includes working with students in the classroom, supporting student academics and individualized learning needs, tutorial help, support for English Language Learners, and other Educational Assistant duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Diploma
• Teacher Assistant Diploma or related education equivalent preferred.
• Able to perform duties with professionalism and confidentiality.
• The successful candidate requires good communication, the ability to follow plans, ability to support students who require individualized programs, enrichment, modifications, and/or accommodations to their learning.
