Job summary

Sturgeon Public Schools is hiring a part-time Educational Assistant 2 for Guthrie School located on CFB Edmonton Garrison, Edmonton area. Sturgeon Public Schools is currently seeking apart-time, permanent Educational Assistant 2 for a work assignment at Guthrie.

As an Educational Assistant, you play an important role in helping students access learning, build confidence, and experience success in the classroom. Through collaboration, encouragement, and individualised support, you help create inclusive learning environments where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to reach their potential.

Located on CFB Edmonton Garrison military base, Guthrie School is just minutes north of Edmonton and St. Albert. With approximately 255 students from Kindergarten to Grade 9 and 30 dedicated staff, Guthrie fosters critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving while giving students the skills and knowledge to reach their full potential.

What You Will Be Doing

Under the direction of the classroom teacher, the Educational Assistant will:

  • Support students across a range of grades and learning needs
  • Assist with academic, social, and behavioural development
  • Provide individualised and small-group support as needed
  • Contribute to a caring, inclusive, and culturally respectful learning environment
  • Collaborate with school staff to promote student success and well-being

  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises sound judgment when supporting students with diverse learning and behavioural needs.
  • Embraces continuous learning and adapts to the evolving needs of students and the school community.
What You Bring
  • Educational Assistant or Early Childhood Diploma/Certificate
  • Experience supporting students with Autism or behavioural needs
  • CPR and First Aid
  • Training or experience in behaviour support, TCIS, developmental and emotional regulation strategies
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility, patience, and a student-centred approach
  • Equivalencies combining education, knowledge, and experience may be considered
  • Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector check
