Job summary

Sturgeon Public Schools in Alberta is hiring an Educational Assistant 2 on a 1.0 FTE full-time temporary position at Camilla School. You will support students’ learning journeys and contribute to inclusive classrooms.

Under the teacher’s direction, you will provide individualised and small-group support, assist with behavioural development, and collaborate with staff and families to promote student success and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant or Early Childhood Diploma/Certificate
• Experience supporting students with Autism or behavioural needs
• CPR and First Aid
• Training or experience in behaviour support, TCIS, developmental and emotional regulation strategies
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
• Flexibility, patience, and a student-centred approach
• Equivalencies combining education, knowledge, and experience may be considered
• Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector check

Sturgeon Public Schools is currently seeking a Full-Time Temporary Educational Assistant 2 for a work assignment at Camilla.

Every student learns differently and deserves the support they need to thrive. As an Educational Assistant, you play an important role in helping students access learning, build confidence, and experience success in the classroom. Through collaboration, encouragement, and individualised support, you help create inclusive learning environments where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to reach their potential.

Located just 15 minutes northwest of St. Albert, Camilla School moved into its new building in 2022. With 500 students from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 9, the school is recognized for its strong academic culture and dedication to supporting students with diverse learning needs.

What You'll Be Doing

Under the direction of the classroom teacher, the Educational Assistant will:

• Support students across a range of grades and learning needs
• Assist with academic, social, and behavioural development
