Job summary

Parkland School Division No 70 Centre for Education is hiring a Temporary Part-Time Education Assistant to support intervention literacy and numeracy for students in Grades 1–5 across the division. The successful candidates will deliver targeted small-group or 1:1 interventions, communicate with teachers about student programming needs, and track progress using provided templates.

Travel to various site locations will be required.

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant Certificate (or comparable education) is an asset
• Experience working with students in Grades 1–5
• Understanding of foundational literacy and numeracy skills, or willingness to be trained
• Strong organization and ability to work independently
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Preparing/organizing intervention materials and schedules

Temporary Part-Time Education Assistant

Parkland School Division is seeking to fill various Temporary Part-Time Education Assistant positions to support intervention programming for students in Grades 1–5 across Parkland School Division. The successful candidates will provide targeted literacy and numeracy intervention supports, communicate regularly with teachers regarding student programming needs, and track learning progress through observation using provided templates. This position requires travel to various sites within the Division. Specific locations and schedules will be determined based on operational needs.

This temporary position does not include benefits but may include some leave entitlements.

Hours of Work: 15-20 hours/week - potential for up to 30 hrs/week
Pay Rate:$25.35-28.39/hr (Pay Group 3) for EA Certified Employees and $24.17/hr-$26.98/hr for EA Non-Certified Employees (Pay Group 2)
