EDI Programming Manager (EDI Department) – Canada

Job Summary

The EDI Programming Manager will lead the programming and governance efforts to ensure Affinity Groups and Business Resource Groups (BRGs) are structured, aligned, and impactful across the firm. This role fosters internal community, visibility, and support for equity-deserving professionals while aligning programming with firmwide talent and culture objectives. The manager will also work with the Reconciliation Implementation Committee to advance the firm’s reconciliation commitments. The candidate should be collaborative, professional, adaptable, positive and dedicated.

Work Environment

As part of the Firm’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) team, this role can be located in any Canadian city where Fasken has offices (Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, Calgary, Tsuut’ina Nations, Vancouver, Surrey). Hybrid remote work arrangements are available with onsite requirements as per business needs. The successful candidate must live in or near their regional office and be able to commute as needed.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Expand and manage the firm’s Affinity Group and BRG framework, including governance, leadership support, and planning tools.
  • Collaborate with group leads to co-create annual goals and impact reporting.
  • Develop and execute internal programming and initiatives that support connection, visibility, and professional development for equity-deserving professionals.
  • Partner with the Reconciliation Implementation Committee to support the development of reconciliation initiatives and ensure progress is tracked and communicated.
  • Coordinate regional EDI networks and ensure programming aligns with local talent and engagement goals.
  • Monitor network engagement and impact of EDI initiatives and share insights to key stakeholders to inform continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to internal group leaders and a connector across business functions to further support EDI practices.
Required Knowledge and Experience
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is considered an asset; however, an equivalent combination of education, lived experience, and professional expertise will also be considered.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of hands-on experience in EDI, HR, program coordination, or community engagement.
  • Prior experience with employee resource groups, networks, or similar structures.
  • Strong facilitation, stakeholder engagement, project management and planning skills.
  • Experience engaging with Indigenous communities, organizations, or knowledge keepers to embed reconciliation principles into programs and education.
  • Experience working in a law firm or professional services environment is considered an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to structure and clarity.
  • Bilingual (French and English) fluency is an asset.

Compensation

The typical salary range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000 annually; the base pay offered is based on location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, internal and market equity.
