Job summary

Job Description

SAIT’s Continuing Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) offers non-credit programs supporting corporate training, individual learners, and international projects. We develop courses for lifelong learning, focusing on careers. Our offerings range from general interest to upskilling and reskilling for career changes. We handle all background activities to prepare our products for student purchase and delivery in various formats.

We are hiring Data Science Instructors for our International Data Science Program and domestic courses.

Our courses are usually scheduled during daytime hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm) to accommodate a diverse learner base, including international students and career changers. Our learners are mature, focused, and seek challenges.

Note: We are building a talent pool for potential contracts during the 2023-2024 academic year. Hours are not guaranteed; contact will only be made if an opportunity arises.

Role
  • Prepare and deliver lessons, lectures, assignments, quizzes, exams, lab activities, and demonstrations as per the course outline.
  • Maintain records for grading, professionalism assessment, and attendance tracking in theory and lab classes.
  • Manage the classroom or lab to ensure a positive learning environment.
  • Show personal interest in learners and foster an optimal learning climate.
  • Provide ongoing support, guidance, and advice to students.
  • Attend all required SAIT training sessions.
  • Achieve School initiatives and objectives.
  • Be an active and engaged member of the School.
  • Adhere to safety legislation, guidelines, and standards.
  • Maintain industry contacts and relevance.
  • Perform any other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or education.
  • Extensive Data Science experience.
  • Equivalent education and experience considered.
  • Current industry experience and knowledge of employer needs in Data Science across industries.
  • Previous teaching experience is a strong asset.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail in written communication.
  • Reliability and punctuality in meeting deadlines and milestones.
  • Responsiveness to communication.
  • Experience with Brightspace or other LMS systems is an asset.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and virtual meeting tools like Zoom and MS Teams.
