A dynamic office furniture innovator in Ontario is searching for a Product Builder to lead the development of their ecommerce site. This role combines product management with hands-on development, focusing on delivering exceptional digital experiences. Ideal candidates will have 3-6+ years in product management, strong technical skills, and a passion for creating user-centric products. This position offers significant ownership and impact in a startup environment.
Rockstar is recruiting for a fast-growing, venture-backed company that is transforming the $46B office furniture industry. Our client is creating a 21st-century office experience that is easy, affordable, and flexible, enabling people to sit down (or stand) and get to work. Based in NYC and supported by investors behind household brands like Quip, Caraway, and Peloton, the founding team brings deep experience in partnerships, real estate, and venture building at leading companies such as Oxford Properties, SL Green, and Redfin. This is an ambitious group of problem solvers innovating across software, design, and logistics, seeking entrepreneurial teammates who thrive on challenges.
The client is seeking a Product Builder (dual role) to lead the development of their ecommerce site and systems with the highest level of delight. This unique role blends strategic product thinking with hands-on development to create exceptional digital experiences that drive growth across both enterprise and DTC segments.
The Product Builder's time will be split between two core responsibilities. Approximately two-thirds of the role will focus on product management : defining strategy, creating roadmaps, prioritizing features, and collaborating with stakeholders. The remaining one-third will be dedicated to development : hands-on coding to implement key features, contributing directly to the codebase, and participating in technical execution.
This position is ideal for a software developer seeking to broaden into product and general management, or a product person / generalist who has developed technical skills. Experience working alongside designers and developers to launch best-in-class ecommerce experiences that directly impact key metrics (CVR, AOV, RPV, etc.) is highly valued. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for details in spec development and user experience, data-driven rigor, business intuition to work cross-functionally and prioritize the roadmap, and exceptional technical fluency to collaborate closely with internal and external developers.
As the first Product Builder, this individual will have the rare opportunity to both shape and build the digital future of the company. This unique role bridges product vision with technical execution at a well-funded startup reinventing the office furniture experience. For the right candidate, this position offers unparalleled ownership and impact across the entire digital ecosystem.
