Job summary

Sports Experts, part of the Canadian Tire family, in Laval, Quebec, seeks an energetic eCommerce Content Specialist to plan, write, update and optimize bilingual content for our online store. You will report to the eCommerce Content and Merchandising Manager and align content with business priorities.

You will collaborate with Design, UX/UI, Web Integration, Marketing and Merchandising, drive quality assurance, ensure brand consistency, and manage multiple priorities to enhance the customer

Qualifications

  • University degree or college diploma in eCommerce, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years in a digital content, eCommerce, or digital marketing role.
  • Experience in a retail/eCommerce environment is an asset.
  • Bilingual with excellent written French and English communication.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, write, update, and optimize eCommerce content in both French and English.
  • Ensure quality, accuracy, consistency, and relevance of content across digital platforms.
  • Serve as the eCommerce content expert and recommend effective merchandising and content strategies.
  • Plan QA reviews prior to publication to ensure content integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with editorial, visual, and brand standards.
  • Collaborate with Design, UX/UI, Web Integration, Marketing, and Merchandising teams.
  • Coordinate content production requests and meet deadlines.
  • Develop and communicate comprehensive briefs to designers and partners.
  • Support merchandising initiatives with category, brand, campaigns, and seasonal content.

Job description

We are seeking a passionate eCommerce Content Specialist with a strong understanding of online retail and a keen eye for digital strategy. As a content expert, you will play a key role in managing, creating, and optimizing content across our eCommerce platform. The successful candidate will report directly to the eCommerce Content and Merchandising Manager for performance management, professional development, and overall objective setting. The role will also work closely with the eCommerce Merchandising Manager to ensure alignment between business priorities, promotional calendars, and content initiatives that support company objectives.

What You’ll Do
  • Plan, write, update, and optimize eCommerce content in both French and English.
  • Ensure the quality, accuracy, consistency, and relevance of content published across digital platforms.
  • Serve as the eCommerce content expert and recommend the most effective merchandising and content strategies based on business and marketing priorities.
  • Plan and execute quality assurance reviews prior to publication to ensure content integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with editorial standards, visual guidelines, and brand standards.
  • Collaborate with Design, UX/UI, Web Integration, Marketing, and Merchandising teams to plan and deliver required content.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the collection and validation of information and digital assets.
  • Coordinate content production requests and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Plan and oversee projects assigned to the creative studio to ensure timely delivery of required visual assets.
  • Act as a liaison between the eCommerce team and the studio to ensure alignment of requirements and deliverables.
  • Develop and communicate comprehensive, well-structured creative briefs to designers and creative partners.
  • Provide recommendations to improve the quality, relevance, and effectiveness of digital content.
  • Support merchandising initiatives by developing and optimizing content related to categories, brands, campaigns, and seasonal events.
  • Work closely with the eCommerce Merchandising Manager to ensure content strategies align with commercial priorities.
  • Contribute to identifying opportunities to enhance customer experience and the commercial performance of digital platforms.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Marketing, Merchandising, and eCommerce teams on all content-related matters and content presentation best practices.
What You Bring
  • University degree or college diploma in eCommerce, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a digital content, eCommerce, or digital marketing role.
  • Experience in a retail or eCommerce environment is considered a significant asset.
  • Bilingualism is essential, with excellent written communication skills in both French and English.
  • Strong understanding of eCommerce principles and best practices.
  • Experience with a Content Management System (CMS) is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365.
  • Knowledge of GA4, Google Search Console, or other analytics platforms is an asset.
  • Experience with Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, or other digital collaboration tools is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated and results-driven, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-starter with a proactive mindset.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced and continuously evolving environment.
