Job summary

Willowbrae Childcare Academy South Richmond, located at 12033 Riverside Way, Richmond, BC V6W 1K6, invites applications for an ECE assistant. This permanent, full-time role offers $20.00 to $23.00 hourly and 30–40 hours per week.

Start date as soon as possible. You will engage children in storytelling, songs and crafts; guide them in eating, dressing and toilet habits; and help with meals, room setup and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• Fluent English communication skills.
• Minimum high school diploma.
• ECE certificate, First Aid and CPR are required.
• 1–2 years of related childcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Engage children in activities such as storytelling, songs, and crafts.
• Assist children with eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
• Maintain daycare equipment and assist with housekeeping and cooking duties.
• Prepare snacks and set up rooms for lunch and rest periods.
• Submit written observations to early childhood educators or supervisors.
• Attend staff meetings to discuss children’s progress and issues.

• The candidate will be expected to engage children in activities such as storytelling, song teaching, and craft preparation.
• The candidate must guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
• The candidate will be responsible for maintaining daycare equipment as well as assisting with housekeeping and cooking duties.
• The candidate must prepare snacks and set up rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
• The candidate will be required to submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors.
• The candidate will be required to attend staff meetings to discuss children’s progress and problems.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• The candidate should have minimum qualification of Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
• The candidate must have an Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, a First Aid Certificate, and a CPR Certificate.
