Job summary

Moray Council is hiring an Early Years Support Worker for the nursery. The role focuses on supporting learning activities and helping with administrative and organisational tasks within the early years team.

The candidate should have experience with under-5s, be willing to register with PVG, and work flexibly as part of a team during term time, ~6 hours weekly at £13.95 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children under 5 years.
• Willingness to work towards NC Early Education and Childcare or equivalent or be SSSC registered.
• PSVG/ PVG scheme requirement prior to offer must be met.

To support the early years team in administrative, practical and organisational tasks and also to support the learning activities of the children.

Requirements

This post is considered to be a ‘Regulated Role’ under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Under the Act, it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme. The successful candidate will therefore be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.

6Experience of working with children under 5 years

Having achieved or working towards the following qualifications:

NC Early Education and Childcare or equivalent

Or

SSSC Registered (if you are not appropriately registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) prior to taking up post, you must apply for registration within 3 months and, be fully registered within 6 months)
