Position: Early Years Educator (RECE) - EarlyON

Reports to: Gore Meadows Supervisor

Location: Gore Meadows

EARLY YEARS EDUCATOR (RECE) - EARLYON

BridgeWay is the largest provider of EarlyON Child and Family Centres in the Region of Peel. We provide free prenatal services, early learning programs and supports to pregnant women and families/caregivers with children birth - 6 years of age. We are looking to grow our team with new staff who want to work closely with children andtheir families in our centres and programs

The Early Years Educator, RECE is responsible for delivering high quality Early Years programs to children (age 0 –) and their caregivers in the Gore Meadows location.

Duties Include:

  • Working with Use of the ELECT and How Does Learning Happen documents to provide family support and quality programs* for children Planning and delivering early learning activities for children and their caregivers using the ELECT and How Does Learning Happen? documents to guide your work
  • Providing emotional support, information and role modelling for parents and caregivers raising young children following Family Support principles
  • Recognizing the individuality of each family and demonstrating respect for different parenting or caregiving styles
  • Working with their Supervisor to develop programs that meet the ongoing needs of clients
  • Providing appropriate referrals to community services/supports
  • Working as part of a team with other staff members and volunteers
  • Ensuring cultural sensitivity and client confidentiality are always preserved

Qualifications:

  • Degree/diploma in Early Childhood Education or related field an asset
  • RECE in good standing with the College Of Early Childhood Educators
  • Knowledge of child and family development
  • Preferably a minimum of 2 years experience in a related field
  • Emergency First Aid/CPR B or C certification
  • Vulnerable Sector Check

Assets

  • Awareness of resources/supports available in the Peel community
  • Experience facilitating programs/support groups with new mothers/parents/ caregivers in attendance
  • Ability to speak multiple languages
  • Punjabi/Urdu is an asset
  • Experience working with infants and toddlers

Job Type:

Permanent Part time (does not qualify for benefits)

Hours:

29.50 or 30 hours per week (positions may include weekday, weekend and evening shifts)

Tuesday - Saturday

Tuesday: Gore Meadows, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (5.50 hours)

Wednesday: Gore Meadows, 12:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. (7.50 hours)

Thursday: Gore Meadows, 12:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. (7.50 hours)

Friday: Gore Meadows, 9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. (4.50 hours)

Saturday: Gore Meadows, 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (5.00 hours)

Or

Monday - Friday

Monday: Gore Meadows, 9:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (4.50 hours)

Tuesday: Gore Meadows, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (5.50 hours)

Wednesday: Gore Meadows, 12:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. (7.50 hours)

Thursday: Gore Meadows, 12:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. (7.50 hours)

Friday: Gore Meadows, 9:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (4.50 hours)

Starting Salary:

$23.35 - $26.25 *Actual salary is determined by assessing related skills, experience and internal equity
