About The Role

As the Early Learning & Elementary Education (ELEE) Program Supervisor, your job is to assist with the planning and preparation of your respective program stream leading up to the 2026 summer camp season. Under the supervision of the Youth Programming Coordinators, you are responsible for overseeing the daily operations of all ELEE camps, which includes leading a team of Instructors and Leaders to effectively deliver thematic, age-appropriate lesson plans to campers. You will also work closely with the other Program Supervisors, Office Coordinator, Supplies & Inventory Supervisor, and Supplies and Inventory Assistants.

This is a casual position working the equivalent of full-time hours from May 1 - August 28, 2026. Scheduled shift times are 8:30am - 4:30pm (May and June) and anytime between 7:00am - 6:00pm (July and August), Monday through Friday. Program Supervisors must have flexible hours for the months of July and August.

All MRU Camps staff are required to provide the following at their own cost prior to commencement:

  • Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search (valid within 1 year).
  • Standard First Aid (valid within 2 years) and CPR Level C (valid within 1 year).
Responsibilities
  • Review, revise, and develop camp resources (e.g., lesson plans, timetables, supplies lists, printables, etc.)
  • Assist with the onboarding process by planning and delivering training and orientation week for all 100+ summer camp staff.
  • Manage and direct a team of approximately 20+ summer camp staff.
  • Provide behavioural and classroom management guidance to Instructors and Leaders.
  • Effectively resolve questions, issues, and concerns from parents, staff, and campers in a professional and timely manner.
  • Complete mandatory daily, weekly, and seasonal administrative tasks (answering emails and phone calls, staff schedules, attendance sheets, registrations, final reporting, etc.).
  • Liaise with supplies and inventory to confirm that the needs of all assigned camps are being met on a regular basis.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of both staff and curriculum to ensure programs are operating at a high standard.
  • Contribute to promoting a safe and inclusive environment for all MRU Camps stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Experience working in a childcare/educational setting in a supervisory and administrative capacity (minimum 2 years).
  • Experience with customer management software is an asset.
  • Experience in curriculum development, lesson planning, and organizing activities for children and youth.
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Must be proficient in using Google Workspace tools (Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Mail, Forms, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in or a passion for Early Childhood Development, Child and Youth Care, and/or Elementary Education.

Salary: $22.00 per hour
