Our Successful Candidate Will

St. Michael's Kids Care Centre, located in St. Michael's Elementary School in Trail, is seeking an Early Childcare Educator (ECE). Reporting to the ECE Manager, the Early Childhood Educator will facilitate high quality childcare and preschool experiences for children ages 30 months - 5 years of age, in alignment with the philosophy of Saint Michael's Childcare Centre and the Catholic Diocese of Nelson.   • Support high quality, age appropriate child-centered programs.
  • Maintain neat, orderly and clean activity areas.
  • Lead with enthusiasm and high energy.
  • Ensure provincial safety and supervision standards are maintained.
  • Abide by appropriate privacy and confidentiality requirements/legislation.
  • Have keen interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
  • Competent in relationship building/collaboration, creating an environment of open communication.
  • Effectively build positive interactions and listen attentively with children and families.
  • Share information, best practices and resources with colleagues.
  • Have the ability to work under minimal supervision.

Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:
  • Commitment to Catholic Education
  • Identification with and active participation within a Catholic parish community (preferred)
  • Early Childhood Educators License to practice
