Job summary

Cariboo Chilcotin Child Development Centre in Williams Lake is seeking support professionals to assess development and tailor learning plans within a caring environment. You will help implement child-care programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional and social growth, and engage children through storytelling and crafts.

The role involves supervising staff and volunteers, assisting educators, keeping records, arranging meals, and ensuring health, safety and licensing compliance.

Qualifications

• ECE Certificate or equivalent required.
• Other trades certificate or diploma is acceptable.
• Experience in child care is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assess the children’s development to prepare a learning plan tailored to his needs.
• Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children.
• Storytelling.
• Supervise staff, trainees or volunteers.
• Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children.
• Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records.
• Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts.
• Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
• Knowledge of licensing regulations.
• Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children.
• Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well‑being of children.
