Job summary

Qualifications
  • College/CEGEP background in Early Childhood Education or related field

  • Experience an asset (preferred)
  • Ability to develop and implement child‑care programs supporting physical, cognitive, emotional and social development
  • Ability to assess children’s development and prepare personalized learning plans
  • Strong organizational skills for maintaining equipment and a safe environmentli>
  • Excellent oral communication, reliability, dependability, value and ethics
  • Proficiency in English
  • Criminal record check
  • Work must be completed at the physical location (no remote option)
Responsibilities
  • Assess children’s development and prepare tailored learning plans
  • Develop and implement child‑care programs supporting development
  • Maintain daycare equipment and a safe environment
  • Communicate child’s overall situation and progress to parents
  • Lead activities—including storytelling, singing, local field trips, arts and crafts
  • Guide children in proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
  • Submit written observations to supervisors or other educators
  • Establish collaborative relationships with co‑workers and community service providers
  • Maintain an environment that protects children’s health, security and well‑being
