Job summary

The Biggest Little Preschool & Childcare Center Inc. in Surrey is seeking a child care assistant to support infants and toddlers. You will work with early childhood educators to promote physical, cognitive, emotional and social development and help prepare activities and meals.

Relocation costs are covered by the employer, and you will join a team in a busy urban child care centre with before/after school programs. The role expects 30–40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Secondary school certificate required.
• 7 months to <1 year experience in child care preferred.
• Willingness to relocate is supported by employer.

Responsibilities

• Bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers.
• Assist educators in programs supporting development.
• Assist in keeping records and observations.
• Engage children with stories, songs and crafts.
• Prepare snacks and arrange rooms for lunch/rest.
• Submit written observations to educators or supervisors.
• Discuss child progress and problems at staff meetings.
• Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems.
