Job summary

Rivercity Inclusion Society Campbell River on Vancouver Island, BC is hiring an Early Childhood Educator to support children in an inclusive school/childcare setting. The position runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:00am – 1:15pm, with a pay rate of $23.73 per hour.

Applicants must hold a BC ECE license and have three years of experience in inclusive childcare. Preference given to an ECE Special Educator with BC license; consideration for ECE-A certification.

Requirements

Must be an early Childhood Educator with current BC License to practice as an early Childhood Educator. Three years’ experience working in an inclusive childcare setting. Preference may be given to an Early Childhood Education Special Educator with current BC License to practice as an Early Childhood Education Special Educator. Consideration will be given to applicants with ECE-A (assistant) certification.

Ability to collaborate and work effectively as a member of an inter-professional team. Strong oral communication, organizational, and documentation skills. Ability to provide a calm, healthy, responsive relationship with the child and to establish and maintain supportive, collaborative relationships with families and childcare setting staff. Able to work independently and efficiently with minimum supervision. Ability to maintain confidentiality and maintain a positive, professional, non-judgmental attitude. Must be physically fit, willing and able to meet all physical demands of the job.
