Candu Energy Inc. is a leading full-service nuclear technology company providing nuclear power reactors and nuclear products and services to customers worldwide. Our 1,400 highly skilled employees design and deliver state-of-the-art CANDU reactors, carry out life extension projects, provide plant life management programs and tools, and offer operation and maintenance services for existing nuclear power stations. This role is based out of the Candu Energy Inc. home office in Mississauga, Ontario.

Reporting to the Manager of Retube Tooling Design Engineering in Retube, Inspection and Maintenance Systems, the Engineer/Analyst-Retube Tooling Design would support multiple Refurbishment projects. The candidate will be responsible for developing and/or overseeing the conceptual and detailed design, manufacturing, testing, delivery and execution support of tooling systems.

Location: Mississauga, ON

Your role within the team:
  • Perform assignments, under close supervision of an engineer in an upper grade of lesser complexity.
  • Develop work knowledge and capabilities in a field of engineering methods and standard Company practices.
  • Assignments normally include system and equipment design and development, design modification, investigation of design difficulties, test of materials, preparation of specifications, process study, cost estimating and preparation of reports, review of vendor's documentation, investigation of manufacturing and installation difficulties.
  • Ensures that work is conducted in accordance with applicable Engineering and Quality Assurance procedures.
  • Plans and executes work consistent with quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Work is reviewed and checked in progress and upon completion.
  • Perform checking of work of support staff on an as needed basis.
  • Perform as an active mentee to develop engineering design skills under the mentorship of a senior engineer.
  • Ensures all project training and qualifications records are up-to-date, and required training and qualifications are completed/updated on time.
  • Be an active team player
  • May be assigned project engineering/coordinator responsibilities on a technical or commercial endeavour of moderate scope.
  • Work is limited in scope and generally related to one field or discipline of engineering, although a knowledge of related fields of engineering and an appreciation of the impact of the work on other areas may be required.
  • Completed work is generally accepted as technically accurate and in compliance with policies and procedures and is reviewed for soundness of judgement and feasibility.
  • Work objectives are specific, and supervision is usually general; the details of the work are not normally closely supervised but this may vary with the assignment.
  • Normally required to plan, schedule and manage own time, including taking into account the plans of others.
