Overview

The Tax HR Business Partner (HRBP) collaborates with the Tax Canadian Managing Partner (CMP) and the Tax Leadership Team (TLT) to develop and implement the Tax Talent Management Strategy and related programs within Tax. As an ‘HR Account Manager’ for the Tax function, the HRBP works with specialists in Talent Attraction, Total Rewards, Learning & Development, Employee Relations, and other HR Business Partners to assess the current state of the function from a people perspective, and to recommend a future state that enhances talent deployment, retention, engagement, and development.

What You Will Do
  1. Participate as an active member of the National HR Leadership Team representing the Tax function.
  2. Act as an internal consultant to the Tax team, providing solutions and strategic insights to meet talent needs.
  3. Share industry and market best practices, and provide thought leadership on organizational and talent strategies.
  4. Build strong collaborative relationships with executive leaders to add value to business results.
  5. Provide HR direction during business planning in partnership with the Tax Leadership Team and National HR Leadership Team.
  6. Analyze talent issues with the CMP and TLT, develop solutions, and partner with Centres of Expertise as needed, leveraging data and insights.
  7. Lead talent development initiatives, including succession planning and next-generation leadership processes.
  8. Identify opportunities to enhance teamwork within Tax and support individual growth and development.
  9. Coordinate with other HR Business Partners to drive cross-functional efficiencies.
  10. Act as a liaison across HR functions to ensure aligned and effective HR services, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
What You Bring To The Role
  1. 10+ years of experience in an HR Business Partner or similar HR role.
  2. 5+ years of professional services experience with a deep understanding of Tax business and current talent trends.
  3. Ability to quickly build relationships and influence at leadership and executive levels.
  4. Extensive HR experience including reward principles, performance management, career development, learning, and organizational development.
  5. CHRP or equivalent qualification is an asset.
  6. Strategic thinker with strong analysis, presentation, and communication skills.
  7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to market changes.
  8. Proactive self-starter with the ability to provide timely, relevant insights to leadership.
  9. Strong skills in understanding business issues, building rapport, inquiry, listening, diagnosis, and influencing.
  10. Fluency in English, both written and oral, with the ability to support English-speaking colleagues and stakeholders, and interpret policies, practices, laws, and regulations.

KPMG BC Region Pay Range: The expected base salary range is $115,500 to $193,000, potentially supplemented by bonuses. Salary offers depend on location, skills, competencies, and qualifications. KPMG also offers a comprehensive Total Rewards program.
