Our client located near Brampton, Ontario has an immediate opening for a Electrician.
Pay Rate: $42-45/hr Based on Experience
Shift: Steady shifts available Afternoon or Nights
Responsibilities
- Repair of equipment and machinery.
- Responds to production problems quickly.
- Possesses excellent troubleshooting skills to determine the cause of and solutions to problems.
- Uses a strong knowledge of PLC logic/programming to aid in troubleshooting and repair.
- Capable of managing the repair of any electrical equipment.
- Prepares plant wiring for addition of new equipment. Plans and manages tasks independently.
- Ensures the wiring layout is efficient, amperage loading is correct, and wiring meets the Electrical Code.
- Coordinates and/or completes office wiring changes.
- Runs computer cable and wiring as required or coordinates with external contractors on such projects.
- Works with Electrical Designers and facilities on the improvement of electrical designs and systems.
- Supports management in continuous improvement, assists in evaluating advancements in electrical technology.
- Can lead a team of maintenance personnel in the completion of a large project.
- Documents any required changes properly on the diagrams.
- Completion of Electrical Preventive Maintenance requirements.
- Thorough knowledge of Preventive Maintenance systems and utilizes this knowledge to make improvements.
- Completes P.M. checklists properly and returns them to the appropriate person on time.
- Documents any problems or additional observations appropriately and corrects whatever is possible.
- Follows the Preventive Maintenance Instruction properly.
- Rotating shifts required.
Qualifications
- Red Seal trade certification required.
- Completion of a four- or five-year industrial electrician apprenticeship program, or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college, or industry courses in industrial electrical equipment.
- Extensive experience with stamping, presses, welding, and assembly equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC controls.
- Well versed in the operation and interaction of robots within a cell structure and their component processes including pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, and electronic.
- Sound knowledge working with MIG & Resistance Welding Robotics and PLCs.
- Programming and troubleshooting of ABB, Panasonic Robots, Allen Bradley PLCs.
- Provide conclusions and/or potential resolutions for approval and implementation.
- Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization including operators, management, and customers and suppliers if required.
- Well versed in and thorough understanding of PHSRs.
- Knowledge of fabricating equipment and processes.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications.
- Ability to troubleshoot.
- Well developed analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a multi-priority paced production environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of lockout/tag out procedures and legislative obligations and requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent English skills both oral and written.
