Job description

Our client located in Brampton, Ontario has immediate openings for Millwrights.

Pay Rate: $42-45/hr based on experience.

Shift: Steady Shifts Days, Afternoons or Nights / 8 hour shifts.

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain an inventory of spare parts and fluids required to keep the Maintenance program running.
  2. Install, examine, replace, and repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components.
  3. Inspect and verify that all equipment safety devices are in proper and safe operating condition.
  4. Fabricate for the Press Shop and Tool Room.
  5. Use machine tools such as lathes and milling machines, and fabrication tools such as welders, brakes, presses, power tools, and punches.
  6. Basic operation of machine tools, such as drills and grinders, to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, and setup of machinery.
  7. Ensure and maintain a tidy and organized workspace.
  8. Adhere to all obligations and requirements under Section 28 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  9. Attend and participate in all required meetings and ensure the timely communication of information to all other team members.
  10. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all company tooling, processes, methods, customer and supplier information, and business.
  11. Keep abreast of new technologies and methods, informing management as necessary.
  12. Perform other duties as required by the Department Manager or General Manager, maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment using common sense practice and the standards and principles of the 5S system.
  13. Adhere to 5S principles, IATF 16949 standard, and all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  1. Red Seal trade certification required.
  2. Extensive experience with stamping, presses, welding, and assembly equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC controls.
  3. A complete understanding of the preventive maintenance required on production weld and tool room equipment.
  4. Knowledge of fabricating equipment and processes.
  5. Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications.
  6. Ability to troubleshoot.
  7. Well-developed analytical skills.
  8. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Comprehensive understanding of lockout/tag out procedures and legislative obligations and requirements.
  10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  11. Excellent English skills, both oral and written.
