JOB DESCRIPTION:
Seeking experienced, professional drivers with DZ-class licence for local deliveries, loading and unloading – commercial office furniture.
Clean driver's abstract and CVOR required. Satisfactory police background check (CPIC) required upon offer of position. Additional security clearances may be required once on staff (per project). Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Satisfactory completion of on-road evaluation required upon offer of position.
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Overtime, Weekend, Day, Night, Evening
Salary: $24.00 per hour; commensurate with experience; 25-40.00 Hours per week
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Skill Requirements
Education: Completion of high school
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver's Licence (Class 3 or D)
Experience: 3 years
Type of Trucking and Equipment: Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles), Van, Pickup Truck
Type of Travel: Local
Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook/ELD, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports, Accident or incident reports
Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone, Satellite tracking (GPS) equipment, ELD
Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs), physically fit
Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight and small trucks or vans to transport goods and materials, Loading and unloading of goods, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Plan travel schedules and routes, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Drive lighter, special purpose trucks, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness
Additional Skills: Professionalism in customer service, Handle inquiries from customers, Commitment to Health & Safety in all matters while on duty
Security and Safety: Bondable, Basic security clearance, Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract), Medical exam, Drug test
Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's licence, D class
