This position is responsible for delivering integrated, total wealth planning solutions and strategic advisory support to Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) families and business owner clients.

The BWT Senior Manager leads comprehensive wealth planning consultations, orchestrates collaboration among internal and external subject matter experts, and delivers tailored recommendations. These efforts are designed to deepen existing UHNW client relationships and support the acquisition of new UHNW clients.

Role Responsibilities
1. Lead Delivery of Integrated Total Wealth Solutions
  • Engaging in consultation meetings with clients or prospects and their Relationship Managers (RMs) to identify life transition events in their business and/or personal wealth.
  • Leading the discovery process to uncover client goals related to business transition, ownership structures, family financial security, continuity, and legacy.
  • Conducting high-level assessments to understand the current state, including reviewing key personal and corporate information and relevant documents.
  • Where appropriate, performing deeper discovery and analysis, which may require coordination with clients’ external professionals to identify short- and long-term gaps and opportunities, and presenting client specific recommendations with a Total Wealth solution lens.
  • Preparing alternative strategies and scenarios using planning software and other tools, as needed.
  • Providing guidance and direction on complex issues to the Team of Experts (TOE) and Scotiabank Senior Total Wealth Planners (STWPs) in support of advance wealth plan development.
2. Promote Awareness, Engagement, and Education of the Advanced Planning and Services Offering
  • Proactively communicating the value of UHNW planning and business transition as part of Scotiabank’s total wealth solutions, both internally and externally.
  • Providing regional support through the delivery of presentations, conference calls, and one‑on‑one engagements with Relationship Managers, Wealth Advisors, and Team of Experts.
  • Reinforcing key messaging and strategies developed by the Advanced Planning and Services team.
  • Supporting the development and/or delivery of clients and prospect events.
  • Assist in identifying and targeting clients who would benefit from Advance Planning and Services.
  • Collaborating with local sales management leaders to raise awareness and identify opportunities to promote the Advance Planning and Services offering.
3. Strengthen Local Relationships to Enhance BWT Delivery
  • Developing a deep understanding of TOE capabilities and cultivating strong working relationships with local partners.
  • Coordinating the integration of TOE members into relevant planning engagements, including: Insurance Consultants, Will & Estate Planners, Trust Officers, Philanthropy Specialists, Private Bankers, Insurance Financing Specialists, Debt & Equity Financing Specialists, and Commercial Bankers.
  • Establishing and managing relationships with external specialists such as niche tax advisors, business consultants, business valuators, family facilitators, and legal professionals; and engaging them as needed in the advance wealth planning process.
4. Contribute to the Success and Growth of the BWT Team
  • Assisting in the development and refinement of processes, policies, and tools to continually enhance the advance wealth planning offering.
  • Actively participating in team learning initiatives and contributing to team performance goals.
  • Building strong working relationships across the team and with key business line and Scotiabank stakeholders.
  • Ensuring consistent and exceptional client experience across all engagements.
  • Fostering a culture of open and honest communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Participating actively in team meetings and touchpoints to share insights and feedback.
  • Encouraging innovation and the generation of new ideas and approaches.
  • Sharing best practices, knowledge and expertise to support the development of team members.
  • Creating and executing a meaningful personal development plan.
