Job summary

MAINTAIR AVIATION SERVICES in Thunder Bay is seeking a full-time Ramp Attendant / Baggage Handler. You will sort, load and unload baggage, marshal aircraft, connect power, and help with aircraft grooming while following safety policies.

The ideal candidate is a strong team player with English communication skills, able to work outdoors in all weather, and prepared to obtain the RAIC pass and a clear background check.

Qualifications

• Must obtain Airport Restricted Area Pass (RAIC) before offer.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Valid driver’s license with clean abstract and a clean criminal records check prior to offer.
• Ability to speak, write and understand English.
• Previous airline and/or freight handling experience is an asset.
• Must be a strong team player.
• Willing to adapt to the changing nature of aviation.
• Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Sort, load, unload baggage and cargo from flights.
• Service lavatories and potable water per company standards.
• Connect, disconnect ground power/bridge power from Aircraft.
• Marshall aircraft to and from gate, parking stands.
• Wing walk arrivals and departures.
• Operate belt loaders, baggage tractors and carts.
• Complete aircraft grooming/cleaning.
• Complete aircraft towing and/or brake riding.
• Complete daily inspection of operating equipment.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and uniform standards.
