Job summary

A local transportation company is seeking a licensed truck driver to operate straight or articulated trucks for cargo transport. Responsibilities include obtaining permits, inspecting vehicles, and keeping detailed cargo records. The ideal candidate should have a secondary school graduation certificate, a Class 1 or A driver's license, and an Air Brake endorsement. This is a permanent position requiring 40 hours of work per week, with English as the working language.

Qualifications

Tasks
  • Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
