Office Location: 1 Presidents Choice Cir, Brampton, ON L6Y 5S5 (near Hwy. 407 and Mississauga Rd)

Lifemark Health Group (LHG) is a market leader in customized healthcare solutions. With over 20 years of service excellence, LHG is one of the largest, most trusted, and most comprehensive providers in Canada. As a national healthcare company, LHG employs over 5,000 highly trained clinicians, medical experts, and team members in almost 400 locations coast-to-coast and continues to grow both organically as well as through acquisitions. With that growth is a vision to be the most innovative healthcare provider in community rehabilitation, workplace health and wellness, and medical assessment services. Lifemark was acquired by Loblaw Companies on May 10, 2022.

Role Overview:

Lifemark Health Group is seeking an experienced Development Team Lead to join our Application Development Team in a permanent full‑time position. Reporting directly to the Director, Technology Delivery and Enablement, you will provide hands‑on technical leadership and day‑to‑day guidance to a team of application developers responsible for developing, modernizing, and supporting critical business applications across Lifemark's national operations. As a key member of the Application Development leadership team, you will work closely with the Director and other Development Team Leads to coordinate development priorities, team capacity, technical delivery, and engineering practices across the application portfolio. You will contribute directly to solution architecture and complex development work while championing cloud‑native development, DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, application security, and AI‑assisted software development.

You are an experienced software developer and technical leader who enjoys helping both applications and people improve. You remain comfortable working directly with code and solving difficult technical problems, while recognizing that success as a Team Lead is also measured by the effectiveness, growth, and delivery performance of the developers you lead. You are comfortable working in a shared leadership model, partnering with the Director and other Team Leads to balance priorities, allocate development capacity, resolve delivery challenges, and maintain consistent engineering practices across teams.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership and Solution Design
  • Provide day‑to‑day technical leadership and direction to a team of application developers.
  • Lead and contribute to solution design, application architecture, implementation approaches, and engineering standards.
  • Translate business and solution requirements into practical, scalable, secure, and maintainable technical designs.
  • Remain hands‑on with development, particularly for complex solutions, prototypes, shared components, and challenging technical issues.
Team Leadership and Developer Enablement
  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership, coaching, mentorship, and technical direction to Senior, Intermediate, and Junior developers.
  • Coordinate work assignments and help developers understand priorities, expectations, dependencies, and delivery commitments.
  • Monitor team workload and capacity and work with the Director and other Team Leads to balance resources across priorities.
  • Provide regular feedback and support the Director with performance management, goal setting, career development, recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning.
  • Promote consistency across teams by collaborating with other Team Leads on standards, practices, tools, and ways of working.
Delivery Leadership and Planning
  • Partner with the Director and other Team Leads to translate portfolio priorities into actionable development plans.
  • Lead technical estimation, planning, sequencing, and assignment of development work within the team.
  • Track delivery commitments and proactively manage technical risks, dependencies, blockers, and quality concerns.
  • Provide the Director with clear visibility into delivery status, capacity, risks, dependencies, and required decisions.
  • Coordinate technical activities across development, DevOps, QA, architecture, security, infrastructure, data, business teams, and third‑party partners.
Application Modernization and Engineering Excellence
  • Guide modernization of legacy applications toward modern .NET, Azure‑based, API‑first, and cloud‑enabled architectures.
  • Work with the Director and other Team Leads to identify and prioritize technical debt and modernization opportunities.
  • Champion code quality, automated testing, secure development, DevSecOps, CI/CD, observability, and production reliability.
  • Lead technical investigation and root‑cause analysis of significant production incidents.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
  • Champion responsible use of generative AI and AI‑assisted development tools for software development, testing, documentation, analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive development and operational activities and scale successful practices across Application Development.
What we're looking for:
  • 8+ years of professional software/application development experience, with significant experience developing enterprise applications using C# and .NET.
  • Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership and day‑to‑day leadership of software developers, including mentoring, work coordination, technical decision‑making, and delivery oversight.
  • Strong experience with modern .NET/.NET Core, C#, ASP.NET Core, MVC/Razor, Web API, and RESTful API design.
  • Strong understanding of object‑oriented design, software architecture, design patterns, and application integration.
  • Strong experience with SQL Server, relational data modelling, T‑SQL, and application data access patterns.
  • Experience developing and supporting applications hosted in Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong understanding of Git, code reviews, CI/CD, automated testing, release management, and modern DevOps/DevSecOps practices.
  • Experience planning and coordinating development work across multiple developers and competing priorities.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, coaching, problem‑solving, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to balance hands‑on technical contribution, team leadership, and delivery responsibilities.
  • Experience modernizing legacy .NET Framework, Web Forms, MVC, or monolithic applications.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Redis, containers/Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, or modern observability platforms.
  • Experience with GitHub Copilot or comparable AI‑assisted development tools and exposure to generative AI/LLM capabilities.
  • Experience developing technology solutions in healthcare or another regulated environment.
Our Technology Environment:
What Success Looks Like:
  • Your team consistently delivers secure, reliable, maintainable, and high‑quality solutions against agreed priorities.
  • Developers receive effective day‑to‑day leadership, technical direction, coaching, and opportunities for professional growth.
  • The Director has clear visibility into team capacity, delivery commitments, risks, dependencies, technical health, and emerging people issues.
  • Team Leads operate as a cohesive leadership group, sharing capacity and resolving cross‑team dependencies.
  • Development standards, automated testing, security, observability, and engineering practices are consistently applied.
  • Technical debt is visible, prioritized, and progressively reduced while legacy applications move toward modern, supportable architectures.
  • AI‑assisted development and emerging technologies are adopted responsibly where they provide measurable improvements.

Following successful completion of the probationary period, you will:
