Job summary

Kibbi Technologies Inc. in Saskatoon is seeking a skilled drywall installer and plasterer to join our on-site team. You will read blueprints, prepare surfaces and apply plaster and joint compounds to achieve smooth, durable finishes.

You will also install metal corner beads, ceiling grids, drywall sheets, and scaffolding, while estimating materials and working safely at heights. English communication and 1–2 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of related construction experience preferred.
• English language required.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.
• Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints.
• Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster.
• Clean and prepare surfaces.
• Cure freshly plastered surfaces.
• Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners.
• Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife.
• Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets.
• Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry.
• Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound.
• Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring.
• Prepare wall and ceiling layouts.
• Estimate costs and materials.
• Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms.
