Job Requirements

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent vocational training in drywall installation or construction.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in drywall installation or a related field.
• Language: English
• Understanding: Knowledge of drywall materials and techniques for both residential and commercial projects.
• Safety: Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices for working in construction environments.

Job Duties

• Prepare and clean surfaces for drywall installation
• Install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
• Apply joint compound to fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks using trowels and broad knives
• Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets
• Secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
• Smooth excess compound and allow it to dry
• Apply acoustic or texture materials to walls and ceilings
• Use a taping machine to tape joints and embed tape in compound
• Install metal stud framing and furring for drywall or plaster walls and ceilings using hand and power tools
• Prepare wall and ceiling layouts
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications

Settings include construction sites, residential, and commercial properties. Conditions involve bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads. Physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, and handling weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
