Job summary

A construction company in Metro Vancouver is looking for skilled individuals to perform various tasks, including applying plaster, measuring and installing drywall, and setting up scaffolding. This permanent position requires a secondary school graduation certificate and offers 40 hours of work per week. Successful candidates will have 1 to 2 years of experience in this field.

Qualifications

• 1 year to less than 2 years of experience required.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
• Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster.
• Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners.
• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife.
• Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets.
• Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim.
• Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists.
• Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry.
• Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound.
• Install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings, and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath.
• Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms.
