Job summary

A government entity in Nanaimo is seeking individuals for onsite drywall installation work. Responsibilities include measuring, cutting, and installing drywall, as well as preparing surfaces and finishing corners. Experience in drywall work is considered an asset, but no degree is required. This position mandates physical presence with no option for remote work.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare surfaces.
• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife.
• Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat, if required.
• Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets.
• Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring.
• Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts and electrical outlets.
• Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools.
• Prepare wall and ceiling layouts.
