Job summary

Pawar Drywall Inc. is hiring a drywall finisher for on-site work in Calgary, AB. This permanent, full-time role offers 30–35 hours per week at CAD 36.50 per hour. Start date is as soon as possible with 3 vacancies.

Shifts include morning, day, evening, and flexible hours. On-site work only. Responsibilities include applying coats and finishing joints, measuring and installing drywall sheets, sanding, cleaning surfaces, and preparing layouts on commercial and residential sites at various

• 1 to less than 7 months of drywall finishing experience.
• On-site drywall finishing experience is preferred.
• Ability to work in dusty environments.

Responsibilities

• Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints.
• Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster.
• Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets.
• Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs if required.
• Tape over joints and embed tape in compound.
• Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams.

Responsibilities

• Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
• Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster
• Clean and prepare surfaces
• Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat, if required
• Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets
• Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
• Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound
• Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied
• Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools
• Prepare wall and ceiling layouts
• Estimate costs and materials
• Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
• Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms
