Job summary

Ledcor is seeking a Dry Utilities Project Manager to support the delivery of a major GO Transit project in Oshawa, Ontario. You will report to the Construction Manager and lead a team of professionals handling relocation, interface coordination, risk, budget, and schedule to ensure safety and quality.

You will liaise with designers, clients, and consultants, coordinating with multiple stakeholders to meet project goals, while ensuring adherence to railway rules and regulations.

Qualifications

  • 8-10+ years of utility construction experience as a Superintendent, Project Manager or in a similar role.
  • Completion of post secondary education in civil engineering or a related field preferred.
  • Professional Engineer license in the Province of Ontario is an asset.
  • Experience working with third party utility companies and providing design recommendations is required.
  • Experience working for a general contractor in Canada.
  • Experience working on Design-Build or Collaborative Contract models is an asset.
  • Excellent contract management, project management, planning and scheduling skills.
  • Capability to effectively communicate and cooperate with project stakeholders, understanding their requirements and identifying solutions.
  • Must possess a valid provincial driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Manage temporary and permanent dry utility relocation, utility scope definition, risk, budget, and execution
  • Manage project progress, analyze current and future work activities
  • Coordinate interface works for utility relocation and stakeholder management across various project aspects
  • Manage quantity take-offs, bills of quantities, and scope development for dry utilities
  • Oversee onsite activities, quality, productivity, progress, and safety of teams and subcontractors
  • Ensure project safety by monitoring and enforcing compliance with policies, procedures, and initiating necessary improvements and preventative measures to mitigate risks
  • Integrate corporate requirements, such as technical design, environmental assessments, and community commitments, into project plans; anticipate and address conflicts or delays arising from this integration
  • Liaise and coordinate with designers, technical teams, and clients on all technical aspects
  • Analyze project designs, technical reports, and background information
  • Foster strong relationships with external consultants, contractors, and vendors to uphold contractual obligations; conduct frequent site meetings to track progress and resolve any emerging issues
  • Ensure project adherence to railway operating rules and regulations
  • Manage requests for information and issue field instructions as needed
  • Prepare comprehensive progress reports

Essential Responsibilities
  • Manage temporary and permanent dry utility relocation, utility scope definition, risk, budget, and execution

Working Conditions
  • Site-based position in Oshawa, Ontario
  • Frequent interaction with project stakeholders, subcontractors, and field personnel
  • Occasional work in active rail corridor and construction environments
Compensation

$114,750.00 - $153,000.00 This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
