Job summary

The National Diabetes Trust is Canada’s largest charitable clothing and small household goods collection service. As an Independent Contractor, you will focus on the collection and storage of donated textiles and small items from Diabetes Canada bins across communities.

You’ll work part-time with pay that varies by donation volume, and you may claim CRA deductions for vehicle, gas, maintenance, and technology.

Qualifications

• Must operate/own a large vehicle such as a van, cube van, or pick-up truck.
• Must have a valid Driver’s license.
• Able to lift to 50 lbs regularly.
• Must have or be willing to get an HST number, which is free and we will help you obtain it.
• A satisfactory criminal background check is required.

Responsibilities

• Empty donation bins on a regular basis (schedule provided).
• Bag loose items as required (bags supplied).
• Ensure cleanliness around the donation boxes.
• Complete weekly service log sheets.
• Transport goods to storage facility when required (storage supplied).
• Meet the Diabetes Canada Driver to load goods on the truck.

With more than 5,000 donation bins and an active home pick-up service in communities across Canada (excluding Quebec), we collect unwanted, gently used clothing and household items, using them to raise much-needed funds for Diabetes Canada.

Each year, the program diverts more than 100 million pounds of clothing and household items from landfill sites across Canada. As an employee on the National Diabetes Trust team, you are part of our national coverage in 2,500 communities, with 28 operations and 100 trucks. About The Dropbox Attendant Role
