Location of Work: 14 Macdonald Rd., Whitehorse, YT Y1A 4L2, and remote location.

Wage:$46 hourly

Start Date: As soon as possible

Terms of Employment: Permanent, full time, 40 to 60 hours per week

Employment Conditions: Early morning, Evening, Shift, Morning, Night, Day

Benefits: Transportation provided by employer

Job Requirements

Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Experience and specialization:

• Type of trucking and equipment: Surface mining dump, off-highway
• Technical experience: Mapping and surveying
• Equipment and machinery experience: Air-track drilling machine, Blasting machines, Drilling machine, Well casings
• Specialization or experience: Specialized environmental skills and knowledge

Security and safety: Criminal record check, Drug test

Transportation/travel information: Willing to travel, Travel expenses paid by employer

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods

Job duties and responsibilities include:

• Determine depth and diameter of blast holes
• Operate tracked or truck-mounted drill equipped with auger or other attachment to drillholes for building foundations or pilings
• Operate air-track, rotary, down-the-hole or other drilling machines to drill blast holes or may direct drilling of blast holes
• Drive and operate air-track or other drilling machines to bore large blast holes to specified depths at staked positions in open-pit mine or quarry
• Operate drilling machines to drill blast holes in rock at road or other construction sites
