Job description

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Driller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating drilling equipment to prepare rock and aggregate materials for blasting, extraction, and processing. This role plays a key part in maintaining safe, efficient, and continuous quarry production.

Responsibilities
  • Operate hydraulic and pneumatic drilling equipment for production drilling.
  • Follow daily drilling patterns and instructions from the Supervisor or Blasting Team.
  • Inspect drilling equipment and perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure all drilling is completed safely, accurately, and according to design specifications.
  • Monitor ground conditions and adjust techniques as required.
  • Keep accurate records of drilled footage, bit usage, and equipment hours.
  • Assist with blasting preparation and support activities as needed.
  • Follow all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and applicable legislation.
  • Work collaboratively with the quarry, blasting, and maintenance teams.
Qualifications
  • Experience operating drilling equipment in a quarry, mining, construction, or similar environment.
  • Experience with top-hammer, down-the-hole (DTH), or rotary drilling systems.
  • Strong awareness of safety procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and rugged terrain.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor and equipment operation.
  • Mechanical aptitude for equipment troubleshooting.
  • Valid driver’s license.
