The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Draftsperson (Drafting Technologist) to join our clients team and help transform raw survey data and field notes into accurate, detailed technical drawings and plans. Reporting to the CEO/President and Office Administrator, this role is key to ensuring precision, consistency, and clarity in all digital drawings that support our clients projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Create and revise detailed technical drawings and plans based on survey data and field notes.
- Ensure all drawings meet company, industry, and client standards.
- Collaborate closely with Party Chiefs, survey technicians, and other team members to interpret field data.
- Use AutoCAD, MicroSurvey CAD, and related software to produce high-quality digital plans.
- Review, verify, and edit drawings with a strong focus on accuracy and precision.
- Manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
- Organize and maintain digital files and project records for easy access and reference.
- Ensure data is consistently backed up and properly stored.
- Assist in maintaining and improving standard drawing templates and design criteria.
- Work with engineers, project managers, and other team members to meet project requirements.
- Participate in meetings, provide updates, and resolve drafting issues as they arise.
- Bring any challenges or complex issues to the CEO’s attention with suggested solutions.
- Perform quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Implement requested changes from surveyors or clients promptly and professionally.
- Adhere to all professional and industry standards related to surveying and drafting.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful
- Completion of a 2–3 year college program in engineering design or drafting technology (preferred but not required).
- Experience using MicroSurvey CAD software (required).
- Experience with AutoCAD or other drafting software (asset).
- Strong technical drawing and drafting skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Solid understanding of surveying principles and terminology.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.

- Ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing project requirements.
