Job Title: Donor Relations Coordinator

Reports to: Lead Principal

Employment Type: 0.4 FTE, one-year maternity leave

Job Summary

The Donor Relations Coordinator reports to the Lead Principal and works in partnership with the administration office. The role has the responsibility of enhancing the giving of individuals and groups to Maple Ridge Christian School by building relationships and exploring new fundraising opportunities.

Job Specifications
  • part-time position for 20 hours per week for 40 weeks (the school year) plus three weeks during July and August
  • flexible work schedule, including the opportunity to work remotely for some of the hours
  • annual salary range: $30,000 – $39,000, depending on experience and qualifications
  • Start Date: November 1, 2025
  • A One-year maternity leave.
Responsibilities

General

  • Embrace and promote the mission, vision, and core values of MRCS
  • Collaborate with the leadership team and community engagement coordinator:
    • On fundraising strategy and implementation
    • Measure the success of and engagement with the fundraising strategy
    • Oversee donor relationships, stewardship of gifts
    • Develop a legacy giving program at MRCS
    • Maintain existing relationships with charitable trusts and foundations
    • Attend networking events and meetings with potential donors
  • Prepare reports and give presentations on fundraising progress and departmental budget compliance to the Lead Principal
  • Oversee information management of the school’s contact management system, including donor tracking
  • Keep informed of developments in the field of donor and alumni relations and use this information to help MRCS innovate
  • Lead the prospecting and cultivation of sponsorships for MRCS’s major fundraising events (e.g., Gala Dinner & Auction and Walkathon), adapting focus as event types and dates evolve with strategy.
  • Work closely with the Community Engagement Committee by attending meetings and contributing to events that foster donor and alumni relationships.
Qualifications
  • A college degree with an emphasis on communications, marketing, public relations, or business administration
  • Understanding of major donor and fund development strategies and legacy giving programs
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proven high levels of integrity and confidentiality
  • Proven ability to prioritize and work under pressure with minimal guidance
  • Advanced computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications
  • Extensive work experience in an educational or non-profit organization
  • Growing as a leader who is Christ-like in character, full of faith, and has a growing relationship with Jesus
  • Must be willing to adhere to and sign the Maple Ridge Christian School Community Standards Agreement
