Type: Regular/full-time; Term/full-time

Term Full-Time: 6-month term (Monday to Friday day shifts) (8:30am to 4:30pm)

Regular Full-Time – Evenings: (1:00pm to 9:00pm) and Weekends (8:30am to 4:30pm)

Duties:

The Document Processing Typist is responsible for ensuring the accurate typing of all court orders and papers, following the correct priority sequence. This position also processes warrants and other legal documentation, and enters relevant information into the Criminal Court Automated Information Network (CCAIN).

Qualifications:
  • Experience performing clerical and administrative duties including: data entry, handling inquiries, preparing specialized or complex documents and processing detailed documentation (preferably legal documents)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks in high pressure situations
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and maintain accuracy
  • Experience working in a team environment while maintaining a respectful workplace
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent English verbal communication skills
  • Excellent English written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook (or equivalent software)
Desired:
  • Successful completion of legal assistant or administrative assistant training program or equivalent
  • Experience with policies and procedures of Provincial Court
Conditions of Employment:
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Satisfactory Enhanced Security Check – Level III
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including overtime with little or no notice
  • Ability to work shifts which may include evenings and weekends. Hourly shift premiums and weekend premiums may apply.
