Job summary

West Edmonton Mall Property Inc. is seeking a Dock Attendant to maintain and secure the docks across West Edmonton Mall. The role requires patrolling docks, keeping areas clean, and ensuring only authorized personnel have access to restricted zones.

The position is a full-time temporary role ending on or before March 2027, with 8-hour shifts on a rotating 7 on/2 off, 3 on/2 off schedule. Lifting 50 lbs and enduring outdoor conditions are expected.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, with bending, kneeling, and lifting.
• Delivery/loader dock experience is a plus.
• Ability to lift and carry 23 kg (50 lbs).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work independently or in a team.
• Ability to work in harsh outdoor climate conditions for extended periods.
• Outdoor labor or similar experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and keep clean the Docks within West Edmonton Mall.
• Patrol docks and ensure they are ready for deliveries and pickups.
• Restrict access to authorized personnel in restricted areas.
• Organize and box cardboard; operate and maintain the compactor.
• Monitor dock areas for hazards or security concerns and report to the Outside Maintenance Supervisors.
• Perform other duties as required for West Edmonton Mall.

Job description

The Dock Attendant is responsible for the maintenance of the Docks within West Edmonton Mall.

Primary Responsibilities

• Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of the Docks within West Edmonton Mall.
• Ensuring the docks are patrolled and ready for deliveries and pick-ups.
• Ensuring only authorized personnel are on site in restricted areas.
• Organizing and boxing cardboard and using the compactor as needed while ensuring it is also kept clean and ready for use.
• Monitoring the dock areas for any potential hazards or security concerns and reporting them to the Outside Maintenance Supervisors.
• Other responsibilities for West Edmonton Mall as required.

Desired Qualifications

• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time while bending, kneeling, climbing lifting, and performing other activities necessary for West Edmonton Mall’s external maintenance.
• Previous experience working in the delivery industry or loading docks is an asset.
• Able to lift and carry 23Kgs (50lbs).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work in harsh climate conditions for extended periods of time.
• Previous experience in an outdoor work setting, doing laborer work, or similar in nature.

Terms Of Employment

• This is a full-time temporary position ending on or before March 2027 that is required to work 8-hour shifts. Rotating schedule of 7 on/2 off, 3 on/2 off.
• Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
