A government transportation agency in Beaumont, Alberta is seeking a Transportation Planning Manager to oversee planning functions and manage a technical team. The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Transportation Planning or related fields, along with significant experience in transportation planning and management. Responsibilities include budget management, data analysis, and liaising with public officials. This position requires a valid driver's license due to potential vehicle operation.
Oversees the development of transportation planning functions in a district. Reports to the Director of Transportation Planning and Development, Deputy District Engineer and District Engineer. Manages a group of technical, professional, and clerical employees engaged in transportation planning activities. Work requires contact with government officials and the public. Employees at this level are virtually self‑supervising and assume direct responsibility for the work product.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Transportation Planning, Public Transportation, Engineering.
Work Experience: 5 Years Transportation Planning (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated equivalent). Relevant work experience may be substituted for a degree on a year per year basis or related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.
Supervisory Experience: Must have three years supervisory/managerial experience. Project leader or lead worker experience may substitute for supervisory/managerial experience.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license at the time of application. This position requires driving a state vehicle.
