Job summary

White Cap Canada Inc. Vaughan is seeking a Warehouse Associate to handle distribution centre tasks including order picking, receiving, shipping and related duties in a physically demanding environment.

You will load and unload materials, stock, sort and stage products, and maintain a clean work area while following safety policies and procedures. This role may support other departments as needed and requires the ability to handle heavy items.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred.
• 0–2 years of experience in area of responsibility.
• 6+ months of relative experience.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Complete tasks such as sorting, picking, stocking and staging.
• Load and unload materials to and from designated storage area, such as racks, shelves, or vehicles.
• Stack or pile materials, such boxes of products, ladders and/or pallets of construction industrial materials.
• Maintains condition of work area (i.e. free of trash, product in correct location, etc.).
• Follows company safety policies and procedures and encourages other associates to do the same.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding work environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:

Nature and Scope:

• Selects correct processes from clearly prescribed rules, past practices, or instruction. Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor. Deviations from the norm are cleared by the supervisor.
• Under close supervision, exercises limited latitude/independent judgment. Work typically involves detailed checks or close review of output by a senior coworker and/or supervisor.
• None.

Work Environment:

• Usually located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort, such as dust, fumes, or odors.
• Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment that may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward.
• Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.

Education and Experience:

• HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. 0-2 years of experience in area of responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6+ months of relative experience.
• $20 hourly rate + shift premium.
